The World’s Most Haunted Places. Can You Visit?

1. The Tower of London, England

This famous tower has stood for centuries, witnessing executions, murders, and betrayals. One of its most famous ghosts is Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII. People say they’ve seen her spirit walking around the tower, sometimes holding her severed head! Spooky, right?

2. The Stanley Hotel, Colorado, USA

This picturesque hotel inspired Stephen King’s The Shining. Guests and staff report hearing piano music when no one is around, children laughing in empty hallways, and ghostly figures roaming the rooms. Some brave visitors even request Room 217, where Stephen King stayed while writing his iconic horror novel.

3. Aokigahara Forest, Japan

Known as the “Sea of Trees,” this forest near Mount Fuji is incredibly quiet, but not in a peaceful way. Many visitors say they feel an eerie presence or hear whispers in the silence. Some even believe the forest is haunted by the spirits of those who met sad fates there.

4. Château de Brissac, France

This castle looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale, but its story is much darker. It’s said to be haunted by the ghost of Charlotte de Brézé, who was murdered in the 15th century. Guests have reported seeing a woman in a green dress with hollow eyes and hearing her eerie cries at night.

5. The Ancient Ram Inn, England

This 12th-century inn is considered one of the most haunted houses in England. The building is said to be built on ancient burial grounds, and visitors have reported ghostly apparitions, strange noises, and even the feeling of being touched by unseen hands.

6. Poveglia Island, Italy

This small island near Venice was once used as a quarantine station during the plague and later as a mental asylum. People say the island is cursed, and no one dares to stay there overnight. Locals believe it’s haunted by the spirits of those who suffered there.

7. Banff Springs Hotel, Canada

Closer to home, this luxurious hotel in Alberta is said to have a few ghostly residents. One of the most famous is the Ghost Bride, a woman in a wedding dress who died tragically on her wedding day.
